There are also several How to play... (specific songs) tutorials in addition to easy to understand music theory for guitarists including: what is a scale?, how to work out scales, what chords to use, how chords are created, what modes are and where to find modal scale positions.

Testimonial: "Thank you, sir, for finally explaining the practical use of modes! I can't even remember how long I've been searching for this answer, and it has only been in the last week or so that I've been able to find it. First, I watched a video of an interview with Joe Satriani. I figured maybe this guitar legend may be able to provide some better insight than the average joe (no pun intended); however, I was a bit disappointed in what he was presenting until he finally made one statement that resonated with me, and that subsequently lead me to your video (via a link from some other video I was watching but can't quite remember which it was.) Not everyone who is apt in the performance of a task is also capable of TEACHING someone else the PRINCIPLES of the performance of that task. I think you have successfully accomplished that with this video." - Darkpsyde213
