I'm trying out my new vocal harmony pedal (TC Helicon Harmony Singer) during the chorus on this cover of Crazy Love. I also loop the guitar chords with my Boss RC 30 loop station, enabling me to throw a solo in. A one-take wonder...forgive the fluffs!
I play this in the key of F. This music is a perfect example of utilising scales from a harmonised major scale. For this reason I have included the Roman numerals for the chords in each section.
The chords I play for the verses are:
| F / Am / | Bflat / F / |
(I, III, IV, I)
The chords I play for the chorus are:
| F C Dm C | Bflat / C / |
(I, V, VI, V, IV, V)
| F C Dm C | Bflat / F / |
(I, V, VI, V, IV, I)
The chords I play for the middle eight are:
| C / Bflat / | F / Fsus4 F |
(V, IV, I, I)
| C / Bflat / | F / Fsus4 F |
(V, IV, I, I)
| C / Bflat / | F / Dm / | Gm / / / | C Csus4 / / |
(V, IV, I, VI, II, II, V, V)
Every second bar, during the verses, I start playing the chord an 1/8 beat before the bar ~ which serves to 'push' the music along.
Below is the strumming pattern for the verses (although I vary throughout).
UPPERCASE = Strike the strings
lowercase = move your hand but don't strike the strings.
D and d = down
U and u = up
D,U,D,U,D,u,d,U,d,U,D,U,D,U,D,u
...and here is my version! :)
